Quiz or Quizzer is a type of Monicle.  It has a lense which is flat on one side and slightly convex on the other - thus giving the user the advantage of a small degree of magnification.  This item was usually kept in a waistcoat pocket or hung on a chain.

This Quiz is continental and is made of 'Pinchbeck'.*

Dimentions :-  7cm. (2.3/4") long.    4cm. (1.3/4") aprox.width of lens.

*Pinchbeck was so named after its inventer - Christopher Pinchbeck (1670-1732) - he was a clock and toy maker:  Mersieur Pinchbeck by mixing Zinc with Copper obtained a gold-like metal.
